As Police interrogated Price, Zaborsky, and Ward, they all denied any participation and stated that an intruder had broken in. Yet, there were no traces of a forced entrance, a fight, or a person fleeing after the crime was committed.

Price, Zaborsky, and Ward informed officials at the time of Wone’s death that they believed an intruder had slain their buddy.

As they went to check a succession of grunts from the guest bedroom, the trio, who were in a polyamorous relationship, thought they heard a person moving down the stairs of their home.

The three claimed that an intruder had entered their home through the townhouse’s backdoor, which had been left unlocked and could have been accessed by jumping over their garden fence.

They said they hadn’t heard anyone going up their stairs and couldn’t explain why the suspected killer chose to walk past Ward’s room and into the guest bedroom across the hall.

Wone had not moved when he was stabbed, based on the surgical precision with which he had been sliced. According to the postmortem report, there was no evidence of narcotics in Wone’s system.

Police discovered a vast collection of BDSM materials in residence, including tools that could be used to confine a person during sex. They suspected this was connected to the case. Nevertheless, examining the goods revealed that none could be related to Wone’s murder.

Furthermore, while a knife was discovered at the scene of the murder, officials later discovered that the blade was too big to have been used in the homicide.

Authorities were unable to locate the murder weapon. However, they claimed that a missing blade from a cutlery set in Dylan’s room was the correct size for the crime.

At a price, Zaborsky, and Ward’s obstruction of justice trial, Dylan’s mother testified that she had given the cutlery set to her son but retained the trimmer blade.
