Anil Dujana was not your typical thug. He had been on the radar of UP Police for a long time, and his network extended throughout western Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Noida. He was dubbed “Chota Shakeel” of western Uttar Pradesh.

Dujana was arrested by the Noida Police shortly after his release from Tihar prison last month. Two FIRs were filed for intimidating witnesses against him in court, including a businessman. Authorities had been looking for him since he was out threatening people.

Anil Dujana was formerly linked to criminal Naresh Bhati and managed the group after Sundar Bhati murdered him. Anil Dujana became involved in murder, extortion, robbery, and land grabbing after seizing control of the gang.

Anil Dujana was taken into custody in a triple murder case in 2011, following which he began leading a gang from prison with the support of criminals Randeep Bhati and Amit Kasana.

Scores of charges have been filed against him in Greater Noida’s Badalpur Police Station under the Goonda Act, Gangster Act, and NSA for offenses including murder, attempted murder, dacoity, robbery, extortion, threatening to kill, and rebellion. In addition, he was listed as one of the top 65 UP gangsters.

With almost 60 criminal charges against him, including 18 killings, Dujana sent shivers down the spines of residents in Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Delhi-NCR, and Haryana.

Dujana was freed from Tihar Prison on April 10 and immediately began intimidating witnesses against him.

On Thursday, Amitabh Yash, ADG Special Task Force (STF), announced that Dujana was killed in an incident. Anil Nagar, a native of Dujana village in Greater Noida’s Dadri district, was the gangster’s name.

Anil Dujana Early Life Explored

Anil Dujana’s career in the criminal underworld began with his involvement with the Bhati gang. 

Sundar Bhati and Dujana used to run a significant iron extortion racket, sand mining, and money recovery through intervening in disputed properties in Ghaziabad in the early 2000s.

Anil Dujana, then 22, was named in a murder investigation at Ghaziabad’s Kavi Nagar Police station in 2002. 

The same year, he was charged with another murder and three additional counts of dacoity, attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon.

Dujana, a native of a hamlet in Noida’s Gautam Buddh Nagar, faced over 60 criminal charges, 18 of which were linked to the murder. Other criminal allegations were extortion, dacoity, robbery, threatening to kill, and mutiny.

Dujana mainly operated in the National Capital Region (NCR) and was dubbed the “Chota Shakeel” of Western Uttar Pradesh. He was last detained in January 2012 concerning a triple murder case from 2011. However, he allegedly began running his gang from behind bars.
