Imran Riaz Khan’s family, notably his son and daughter, are going through a difficult time, losing their Father and trying to make sense of the situation.
Imran’s Father, Usman Riaz Khan, has stated that except for their eldest daughter, the rest of the children have not been notified of their Father’s location or the reasons for his absence.
Usman Riaz Khan, Imran Riaz Khan’s 32-year-old brother, alleged that on the day the video was shot, May 11, Imran Riaz Khan was traveling to Oman after opting to depart Pakistan after his residence in Lahore was raided by Police the day before.

“In his 16-minute-long films, my brother was able to condense political matters, and he always revealed the truth, which is why he got picked up,” the younger brother told Al Jazeera on Tuesday.
Usman Riaz Khan, speaking from Lahore, said Punjab Police informed the family sources that his brother had been transferred to the Police station after being detained at Sialkot airport.
“When we asked, the cops stated we just released him that night.” Police also accused him of “Moving away with a gang of unknown individuals, and they don’t know anything about him anymore,” Usman claimed, adding that his brother is not facing any legal charges.
In an official complaint filed with Police, his Father stated that CCTV video from the Police station showed his son being “kidnapped” by “four to five masked individuals” after being freed.

Imran Riaz Khan, the host of BOL News, has been missing since his detention on May 11 by airport authorities at Sialkot International Airport in the eastern state of Punjab.
He was detained under a no-violence order amid large rallies in response to the detention of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to RSF’s private diplomatic sources, the government’s silence on the TV anchor’s fate implies that he has fared poorly since his kidnapping and may have perished in custody.
The Police first stated that he has freed about 10:30 pm the same day, but they now admit that he was carried away in a Police vehicle following his “release.”
RSF has reviewed the hearing transcript. The Punjab Police inspector general’s testimony before the court admitted state responsibility. “We have requested Police all around Pakistan,” claimed the inspector general.
“Nobody has Imran Riaz” (…) We did not want Imran Riaz Khan. But, “agencies” had requested a Police vehicle. [The court] might summon the authorities and inquire why they requested a Police vehicle.”
