Paltrow has rejected the charges and filed a counter-suit, saying that Sanderson was the one who crashed into her from behind.

Because her injuries were “quite small,” she claims “only symbolic damages for $1, plus her costs and attorney’s fees to defend this meritless claim,” according to the lawsuit.

The complaint also says that Sanderson did not ski cautiously and crashed with her when she was halted on the slope. Paltrow’s lawsuit seeks a symbolic $1 in damages and a court ruling proclaiming that she was not to blame for the accident.

But, Paltrow’s legal team has filed a motion to dismiss the case, claiming that Sanderson signed a disclaimer relieving the ski resort from obligation for any mishaps on the slopes. The resort was also listed as a defendant in the case, even though it was not directly involved in the catastrophe.
