Christine, who has forfeited her right to confidentiality, began working at McDonald’s in 2011 after relocating to London. She told the BBC that she “thought it would be amazing” but had no idea what she was getting herself into.

She attempted to handle the issue by requesting that colleagues step in. Christine later stated that she began having anxiety and panic attacks and using antidepressants “just to get through the day at work.”

“How can you expect to work while you’re suffering a panic attack and can’t breathe? “Your heart is beating, and you’re terrified,” she explained.

“You don’t want that individual to approach you and speak or do anything. You’d think if you said no, she’d get the message, but she simply thinks it’s OK. She has no idea what she’s doing to you.”

The worst happened in 2018 when she became ill and went to the warehouse to beg the boss for permission to leave.

Christine said she fled and went to her boss to file a complaint, but when the manager spoke to the man in question, she was instructed to “go back in the kitchen and work with him.”
