Chandler Stephenson Career Explored

Stephenson began his hockey career playing ringette with the Saskatoon Cobras before transitioning to ice hockey. He played bantam hockey with the Saskatoon Generals of the Greater Saskatoon Hockey League from 2006 to 2009.

During his rookie season, Stephenson competed for Team West at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge. He completed his rookie season with seven goals and 20 points through 60 games.

Stephenson’s productive play as a rookie and sophomore earned him seventh rank among all WHL skaters from the NHL Central Scouting Bureau. Similarly, he earned third in the world from ISS Hockey’s preseason rankings.

By his sophomore season, he had surpassed his previous season’s point total and was invited to participate in the 2012 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. He finished his sophomore season with 22 goals and 42 points through 55 games.

Stephenson broke out offensively in his third WHL season, recording career-highs in goals, assists, and points. Chandler debuted on April 16, 2014, against the Norfolk Admirals and scored his first career AHL goal on April 20, 2014, against the Binghamton Senators.

Chandler started his professional career with the Hershey Bears. In 2019, the player was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights, where he experienced a breakout, setting career highs in goals and points.
