In 2020, a couple in Reno, Averyauna Enoch, and Tyler Anderson was brought to trial for the heinous crime of killing the man’s 5-year-old daughter two years earlier than the prosecution.
The little girl was cruelly confined in a cage, deprived of food, and left to die before her body was found in a duffel bag in a storage unit in California.

Cali Anderson Autopsy was performed immediately after the Reno Police found her body; however, the actual report is unavailable to the public due to confidentiality and privacy concerns.
Dr. Jason Tovar, the Chief Forensic Pathologist in Sacramento, informed the jury that the five-year-old weighed a mere 16 pounds at the time of autopsy and that her death was a result of complications from malnutrition.
The jurors viewed Cali Anderson Autopsy photos showcasing the distressing condition of the little girl who was nothing but skin and bones.
The autopsy revealed injuries to the girl’s arms, legs, hips, and head, as noted by Dr. Tovar.
An affidavit obtained by KOLO, the sister station of FOX40, which reveals a disturbing discovery at a storage unit on the 1800 block of Glenrose Avenue.
The unit belonged to Joe Garcia, who notified the authorities after finding a plastic drum with the decomposing body of a child inside.
On May 11, 2018, Nevada resident Tyler Anderson called Joe Garcia and requested permission to store items in Garcia’s storage unit, as stated in the affidavit.
The sequence of events was as follows: on May 14, Tyler Anderson requested to store more items. However, on May 15, Joe Garcia, the storage unit owner, made the gruesome discovery of Cali’s body and immediately notified the Police.
The Reno Police Department reported that Tyler Anderson and Averyauna rented a U-Haul van on May 10, which was utilized to move Cali’s body from Reno to Sacramento.

Case Of 5 Years Old Handcuffed In An Animal Cage And Starved To Death
The Reno Police Department reported that Cali Anderson passed away at some point within the last two weeks in Anderson’s apartment in Reno.
According to Avaryauna, Cali was unresponsive at 10 pm on May 4. The Andersons attempted CPR until 1 is the following day, but instead of calling 911, they placed Cali in a cold shower to wake her up.
Seven days after Cali’s death, her body was placed in a duffel bag and stored in a closet by the Andersons.
Following a search warrant at their apartment, investigators found an animal crate in the bathroom with handcuffs attached.
A girl’s backpack accompanied the crate with clothes and a hat that said “Cali.” No evidence of any pets living in the apartment was found.
The neighbors were under the impression that the Andersons had two sons, and no one had mentioned a girl. Cali is believed to have been kept isolated from the public.
After almost two years of the ongoing case, In Washoe County District Court, Averyauna Enoch admitted to first-degree murder, while Tyler Anderson admitted to second-degree murder.
The Washoe District Court jury handed down a life sentence to Averyauna Enoch, with the possibility of parole, for her role in the 2018 starvation murder of Cali Aderson, her stepdaughter.
