In response to the current challenging circumstances Noah Martinez’s family faces, they have initiated a GoFundMe campaign to seek financial assistance to cover their expenses.
Recognizing the financial strain they are experiencing during this challenging period, the family has decided to reach out to the community and beyond for support.
Noah’s father, Jonathan Martinez, mentioned that his late son had a special bond with his older brother Andrew, who recently died of Cancer.
Andrew helped Noah, who had autism, secure his job as an overnight janitor, granting him independence.
According to Noah’s father, he had a solid commitment to his work. He would religiously insist, “Dad, I have to go to work,” without knowing when his shift would end.
Last Tuesday, Jonathan received a crime alert about a shooting near Noah’s workplace, which instantly heightened his anxiety as he hoped it wasn’t his beloved son. Jonathan recalled, “We rushed to the crime scene and found Noah there.”
Investigators revealed that Noah was shot and killed around 4:30 am in the 3400 block of Emory Street in Boyle Heights.
Noah’s boss had kindly offered to arrange an Uber ride for him to return home, but Noah declined the offer.
Jonathan expressed his need to clarify why Noah was in that area, consisting of RV encampments and great graffiti. He remarked, “We are trying to understand what he was doing over there.”
The crime scene is close to a Department of Water and Power building, and the family hopes the suspect might have been captured on the security cameras.
