Ashli Babbitt was killed in a shooting in the United States Capitol. She was among the followers of U.S. President Donald Trump who stormed the U.S. Capitol building to overturn his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
Babbitt attempted to enter the Speaker’s Lobby via a damaged glass near a barred door but was shot in the left shoulder by a United States Capitol Police officer (USCP)
The incident was captured on many cameras, and the film was widely distributed.
Among those who captured footage of the shooting was John Earle Sullivan, who was arrested for participating in the incident. Zachary Alam was also detained in connection with the incident.

Ashli Babbitt Parents: Why Is Her Mother Micki Witthoeft Arrested?
Ashli Babbitt’s mother, Micki Witthoeft, has found herself in legal difficulty concerning circumstances surrounding her daughter’s terrible murder during the January 6 insurgency at the United States Capitol.
Micki Witthoeft was arrested in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday on counts of simple assault and property destruction.
The arrest occurred after an alleged altercation with a counterprotester during a march near the jail where defendants from the January 6 incident are housed.
The arrest was filmed on video by The Daily Beast. Later that day, Witthoeft was released and returned to a right-wing demonstration near the jail.
It is vital to highlight that this arrest is independent of her earlier run-in with the authorities.
Prosecutors, however, dismissed the accusations against her without giving a reason. Capitol Police officers had warned Witthoeft and her companions to leave the road.
Witthoeft is seen on video turning her back on the cops and placing her hands behind her back.
Regardless of the dismissed charges, Witthoeft’s past incident is likely to have contributed to the media attention surrounding his new arrest.
Micki Witthoeft’s recent arrest has drawn attention and condemnation from certain people.
Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene openly questioned why Witthoeft was the only one detained during the anniversary of the January 6 incident outside the United States Capitol.
Ashli Babbitt Death Explored
Micki Witthoeft’s daughter, Ashli Babbitt, was fatally shot by a Capitol Police officer during the January 6 incident at the United States Capitol. According to investigations, the officer’s actions were legitimate and conducted in self-defense.
As a result of this finding, the officer was absolved of any misconduct. The incident created controversy and debate, heightening interest in Babbitt’s mother and her role in later events.
Following the standard procedure for Capitol Police officer shootings, the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia and the United States Department of Justice reviewed Babbitt’s death.
It determined that the shot was “lawful and within Department policy.”
After clearing Byrd, USCP issued a news release stating that his actions “may have spared Members and staff from significant harm and maybe death.”
After his acquittal, Byrd made his identity public in an August 2021 interview with NBC News.
He said that his name had previously been published in right-wing media and internet forums and had received racist and violent threats (Byrd is African-American), forcing him to go into hiding for many months.
