She also received a wildcard to play in the ‘s-Hertogenbosch WTA Tour main draw but lost in the first round. Her year-end ranking in 2007 was 465.

In 2008, Rus had a successful junior career, winning the Australian Open and reaching the Roland Garros semifinals and Wimbledon quarterfinals.
