From the country of Himalayans comes a lady who has set the T20I best bowling record on fire. During the ongoing 13th SAG games, a new world record is claimed by a Nepalese woman cricketer Anjali Chand.
Anjali Chand rewrote the history books as she recorded a bowling figure of 2.1 overs 6 wickets for 0 run. Yes, you heard it right. This talented lady has taken six wickets without conceding any run.
In the 16 years of professional T20 cricket, this is the best figure by a woman. During the match held in Pokhara, where the Maldives were also involved, Anjali took wickets in 7th, 9th, and 11th over to dismiss the team in a total of 16 runs.
The scoring run was chased down in 0.5 overs, which is pretty quick even by T20 standards. Before this, the best bowling in a woman’s T20 cricket is held by none other Mas Elysa of Maldives. Her bowling accounted for figures of 6 for 3. This figure, however, came against China Woman.
Anjali, the chief destructor, was born on the 16th of September, 1995, in Nepal. The exciting thing about Anjali is the fact that she is an allrounder. The medium-fast bowler is also a handy batsman. To account for her records, though, she has scored a century in the domestic national game.
This 24 years old sportswoman from the land of Buddha has a considerable amount of years left to her game and also gains new records.
Who holds it for Men T20?
With the large win today, Nepal has a bit of easy road ahead. With games left against Bangladesh and Srilanka, we feel it will be some hard yards. On the contrary, the best bowling figure in Men’s T20 cricket is held by Deepak Chahar. This Indian paceman holds the record against Bangladesh this current year.
Before his record, though Ajanta Mendis, the Srilankan mystery spinner, held the record of 6 for 8 to make it a bowling juggernaut for a long time.
