According to reports, Police revealed at around 1:35 pm on February 13, 2017, Libby & Abby were dropped off by Libby German’s elder sister, Kelsi German, on County Road 300 North for hiking.

And at around 2:07 pm, Libby posted a photo of Williams walking across a wooden bridge on their hiking trail on the Monon High Bridge over Deer Creek.

But suddenly, nothing was heard again from the girls’ side, neither a photo nor any messages to anyone.

After failing to attend German’s Father’s meeting at 3:15 pm, they were reported missing at 5:30 pm.

Before contacting the authorities, the families looked for the girls independently. Despite their quick search of the area, authorities did not initially assume foul play in the disappearance.

This all altered when the girls’ bodies were discovered the following day around noon, about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) east of the demolished Monon High Bridge.

Abby and Libby’s autopsy reports suggest the girls were killed off foul play on the same trail they were discovered dead.

Initially, Police thought the death was accidental. Still, later on, when the investigation proceeded & they got hands-on Abby and Libby’s autopsy reports, they discovered the death was a clear case of murder.

An Indiana man was arrested on February 14, 2023, on the deaths of two teenage girls five years before, after they went missing while hiking and were later discovered murdered.

In a press conference Monday, authorities anonymously announced the arrest of Richard Allen, 50.

Later after a few days, Richard was officially charged in the deaths of 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German seven years ago in 2017, CNN reported.

On February 13, 2017, Libby and Abby vanished, and they were discovered one day later in a rough area close to the hiking path.

On a day off from school, the two girls went hiking in Delphi, a place renowned for its hiking trails, but were killed on occasion.

At an initial hearing, Allen entered a not-guilty plea to two counts of murder; according to CNN, he is due back in court on January 13 for a pretrial review.

The girls’ deaths were determined to be homicides. Still, more than five years later, Police have not revealed how they were murdered or provided information regarding any of the case’s evidence.

According to The New York Times, a judge determined probable cause for the arrest warrants for Allen, but the court has sealed all material related to the charges.
